Hi this is Shannon, Lori's daughter,

Just returned from Tamarindo and Wow, the weather was amazing!  Mi novio and I tried the new Argentinian restaurant only 2 blocks from the condo and it was phenomenal.  Other vacationers suggested the price fix menu where you try 4 different types of meat.  To die for!!! Only $20 per person and you won't go home hungry.

I did not get a chance to try the authentic Italian Restaurant less than a block away, but from what I hear it is quite good and you will most likely meet the owners who live in a condo in Villa Verde.  If you meet them you will soon have a very pronounce Italian accent.

Went to the Marriott to hear Avelino, a very talented Brazilian musician, who also lives in Villa Verde.  This is a great chance to see a beautiful resort and hear incredible Brazilian music.  Just ask Avelino when you see him the next time he plays.

Spent a day on the beach near Lola's, while friend enjoyed a friendly game of futball.

As always the garden and pool area at Villa Verde were very relaxing and I had a hard time justifying leaving my little sanctuary.  :-)

Pura Vida,
Shannon

Poor Lola passed away last year but there is a new Star....Lolita! Visited there in September 2010 and it is still a destination to explore.  The restaurant is still called "Lola's" and is still the place to visit.  Great food, beautiful teak furniture and right on the beach.  During the winter season, the roads may be a little difficult to maneuver but you can still get there.  Take your beach gear and towels and enjoy the surroundings.

Lori’s recommended must do during your stay in Tamarindo:

LOLA’S RESTAURANT – What an experience, this is!  Samantha Brown from the Travel Channel did a segment on Tamarindo and she took an ATV to Lola’s.  Better to go in the dry season.  Lola is a huge pig, but the restaurant itself has excellent food and the setting is beautiful.  With teak tables and chairs and the ocean view, you must visit Lola’s.  It is way out on a dirt road, which will take about ½ hr to get there.  Go to Villa Real, turn right and keep going.  You will go past Hacienda Pinilla on the right and may have to stop several times to make sure you are going the right way.
